Are you looking for a dentist in Courtenay? Driftwood Dental is accepting new patients and families. Whatever your smile needs, we’re here to help!
What to expect during your first appointment
As a new patient at Driftwood Dental, your initial appointment will include a consultation with one of our dentists.
During your first appointment with us, our team will take x-rays and photographs for our records, and will review your past dental and medical history. This will help us get a complete picture of your oral health, which in turn will inform your treatment process.
Your dentist will also perform a quick oral examination to present a diagnosis of any dental problems you are experiencing. Based on this examination, the dentist will recommend the appropriate treatment options for your dental care.
We look forward to welcoming you to our dental family!
At your first appointment, please provide:
- Your Personal Health number (Formerly the MSP Care Card)
- A list of medications you are presently taking.
- If you have medical or dental insurance, please bring your insurance card or number.
This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims or pre-determinations.
*IMPORTANT: Any form submitted by email must be encrypted, to ensure it is secure. By submitting an unencrypted email form, you are consenting to an unsecured email. Alternatively, please print off the form, complete it, and bring it to our office.
We want to provide you the best possible care and attention and while that means a bit of paperwork (although we do use a wipe-able form and scan the information to save trees) to help us give you the best possible care for your dental health.
Please provide the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Your referral slip, if applicable
- A list of medications you are presently taking
- If you have medical or dental insurance, bring the necessary completed forms.
Please let us know if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (e.g., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.).
Also be sure to advise us if you are on any medication (e.g., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.) or require medication prior to dental cleanings (i.e antibiotics, for pre-med.)
