Root canal therapy is a procedure done by dentists when the pulp of your tooth is infected.
If you’re nervous and have been avoiding your dentist, ask our team about our sedation services to help you feel more comfortable.
What is a root canal?
This simple treatment can save your natural teeth and prevent the need of dental implants or bridges. Infection can be caused by trauma to the tooth, deep decay, cracks and chips, or repeated dental procedures.
Symptoms of infection can be identified as visible injury or swelling of the tooth, sensitivity to temperature or pain in the tooth and gums.
How is a root canal performed?
If you experience any of these symptoms, you may need non-surgical treatment to eliminate the affected area.
The injured pulp is removed and the root canal system is thoroughly cleaned and sealed. We use local anesthesia to eliminate discomfort in the affected area. We offer sedation options for all dental procedures.
What happens after treatment?
Following your procedure, we’ll schedule a follow-up where we'll review what type of restoration is necessary to protect your tooth.
It’s rare for endodontic patients to experience complications after routine endodontic treatment but should a problem occur, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
How much does a root canal cost?
The cost can vary depending on factors such as the severity of damage to the affected tooth and which tooth is affected.
In general, endodontic treatment is much less expensive than tooth removal and replacement with an artificial tooth.
